About Us

Welcome to GracePoint Church, we are glad you chose to visit our site. I would love to take this time to tell you a little of our story and about who GracePoint is. GracePoint’s beginnings can be traced back to a denomination board that wanted to start a new church in the Dairy Preserve of South Ontario. Cows were moving out and people would soon be moving in.  I served on that board and felt God’s call for me and my family to start that church.

My wife, Nicole, and I were directors of a youth church at Gateway Community Church in Chino, CA.  We let the Lead Pastor, Lynn Thrush, know our feelings about church planting, and he blessed us in many ways. Pastor Thrush encouraged his congregation to consider participating in this new church. Gateway also helped with some initial funding of the church plant.  For the first six months of 2005 we gathered people who would say,  “yes” to church planting.

We set out to begin services in October 2005.  GracePoint’s launch came into effect with a combination of several groups  including:  encouragement and finances from Gateway, finances from the Brethren in Christ Board for Church Planting and Evangelism, and from the church planting launch team.  We had our first evening service on October 16, 2005 at Liberty Elementary School in South Ontario. There was no worship – just a Bible lesson and some refreshments. Nineteen people showed up that first night.   In just a few months we moved to Ranch View Elementary School and began our Sunday morning services.

Our GracePoint core group has continued to grow in size and God is doing great things through GracePoint. We are still young and are seeking God with all our hearts.  We want to do His will and live on purpose. We are a community that is committed to introducing people to Jesus Christ and inviting them to have a personal relationship with Him. We believe that wherever you are along this journey of faith there is always a next step that can be taken. We stress moving forward together as a congregation, since God designed the Church as a community to help each other grow and live.   We are intentional about walking with each other, growing, and becoming authentic followers of Christ. Our teaching and training is geared, so that everyone has the opportunity to get plugged into the community of GracePoint.   We want people to find a place to serve God both inside and outside our walls. We see the Christian journey as a process and we understand we are in this together.
