Welcoming Kids with Fast Food Frenzy
June 17, 2010
This past Wednesday, GPY had a Fast Food Frenzy! We went to Taco Bell, and some of the kids had tacos covered in 5-7 HOT sauces. Our next stop was McDonalds, where we enjoyed a timed hamburger eating contest (which our youth pastor Jacob won). After that we swarmed Bakers for some ½ pound bag of fries, and finally ended with dessert at AMPM.
Overall it was a very fun night, where we proved that we can worship God while stuffing our faces full of unhealthy food.
We also had a great time introducing our new 6th graders (Zack, Nina, Jordan, and Jacob) into the GPY family. We look forward to seeing them grow in God, and seeing where He takes them on their new journeys. - Grace & Peace, Jacob
Dodgeball Night
May 13, 2010
This past Friday night, GracePoint Youth traveled to Upland Brethren in Christ to take part in the ultimate pummeling experience… Dodgeball!
We partook in an event that had more than 45 youth and young adults involved. Dodgeball was a blast, and although we were throwing round rubber balls at each other, in what would seem like an act of senseless violence, no one sustained extreme injuries. God shined through as we enjoyed the company of other youth groups from our sister churches; Upland BIC and Solid Ground BIC!
Another event, Broom Hockey, will be scheduled for sometime in July, and we hope to see everyone there!
Winter Camp 2010 has come and gone!
February 23, 2010
It was a great and blessed time. God really met us up on the mountain, and we have all gone away with many things to talk about. Our theme was, “Oasis.” Our speaker, Steve Mayo, brought up some ideas on rest that caused us all to think about how much time we spend doing things in comparison to how much time we spend with God.
There was some fantastic worship that had most of singing, jumping, and dancing! There were also some fun times sledding and innertubing down hills of snow, as well as playing a 3 hour football game!
Winter Camp was a blast, and we are all looking forward to next year!
Grace and Peace!

Youth Yard Sale
January 11, 2010
This past Saturday, January 9, was the GPY Annual Yard Sale, and it was a huge success! I think some thanks are in order.
First, to God. God’s involvement was clear from the beginning. It was a bright, sunny day. There were times when there were dozens of people in the yard, rummaging through things, and I believe that this was God drawing people in to help us with our fundraiser.
Second, to the Suttons. Thank you for letting us use your home, once again, for our yard sale. Holding it here is part of the success. It is on one of the busiest streets in Chino, and constantly draws people to it.
Third, to those who donated. Without the things that some of you have saved since the day after our last yard sale, this fundraiser could not happen. And for those of you who went into your garage on Sunday and said “Uh oh” because you found the bag of things that your spouse had asked to drag over… Hold onto it, and bring it next year.
Last, and certainly, as always, not least, the people who helped work the yard sale. The Muscente’s (whole family) were there for most of the day. They were saviors to us more than once, and quite possibly would not have been able to start it without them. Also, a great thanks goes out to all of the youth members who gave their time to be there.
The money raised from this goes to help our youth go to great events such as YouthQuest, and Winter Camp. If you know someone between the grades of 6th and 12th grade, Winter Camp is our next big event (Feb 19-21) and we would love to find a way to send them!
GPY Christmas Party
December 19, 2009
This week GPY had its annual Christmas Party. The party was a fun time, sharing the true meaning of Christmas together, as well as experiencing our personalities coming together in the ever foreboding “White Elephant Gift Exchange.”
The evening began with worship in the form of Christmas Carols, led by our own worship leader, Jeff. He was able to set the tone for worshipping God by leading us through carols such as “Go Tell it on the Mountain,” and “O Holy Night.”
After worship we discussed the meaning of Christmas, and the excitement of worshipping a God who chose to step into our existence and live a life like us – so that we may be reconnected to Him.
The night ended with a rousing version of the “White Elephant Gift Exchange,” where gifts took the form of Tiaras, Fairy Dolls, Turkey Hats, Lightsabers, and unused film.
Although the Christmas party is over, GPY will continue to worship Jesus all throughout the year, and continue to enjoy the time spent together as we have many new and exciting events planned for the New Year! Finally, I would like to say on behalf of GPY, Merry Christmas! - Jacob
