Youth Yard Sale
This past Saturday, January 9, was the GPY Annual Yard Sale, and it was a huge success! I think some thanks are in order.
First, to God. God’s involvement was clear from the beginning. It was a bright, sunny day. There were times when there were dozens of people in the yard, rummaging through things, and I believe that this was God drawing people in to help us with our fundraiser.
Second, to the Suttons. Thank you for letting us use your home, once again, for our yard sale. Holding it here is part of the success. It is on one of the busiest streets in Chino, and constantly draws people to it.
Third, to those who donated. Without the things that some of you have saved since the day after our last yard sale, this fundraiser could not happen. And for those of you who went into your garage on Sunday and said “Uh oh” because you found the bag of things that your spouse had asked to drag over… Hold onto it, and bring it next year.
Last, and certainly, as always, not least, the people who helped work the yard sale. The Muscente’s (whole family) were there for most of the day. They were saviors to us more than once, and quite possibly would not have been able to start it without them. Also, a great thanks goes out to all of the youth members who gave their time to be there.
The money raised from this goes to help our youth go to great events such as YouthQuest, and Winter Camp. If you know someone between the grades of 6th and 12th grade, Winter Camp is our next big event (Feb 19-21) and we would love to find a way to send them!
